Quality Infrastructure Training opportunities

The Quality Infrastructure (QI) landscape is rapidly evolving, and professionals in the field must keep up with the latest developments.

Mesopartner offered a unique training course in autumn 2024 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The course focused on quality infrastructure in a changing world. The event attracted participants from various backgrounds. Some were working in QI institutions and projects. Other professionals from outside the QI sector aimed to incorporate QI skill into their work.

QI training in Frankfurt, 2024

After the event, one of the participants asked me a question. He wanted to know where the staff of his development agency can get extra training. He also asked about training for his counterparts in QI. My answer to his question can help others as well. Thus, I am sharing relevant training opportunities in quality infrastructure here.

In-Person Training Events

  • Mesopartner QI Training: The Frankfurt event was a rare opportunity for comprehensive QI training. Good news – it’s scheduled to occur again from October 20-22, 2025. This event provides a holistic overview of QI. It is particularly recommended for those seeking to understand its interrelation with other development fields and topics.
  • QI Digital Forum: Organized by German QI institutions (BAM, DAkkS, DIN/ DKE, and PTB), this is an annual event. It recently took place at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin. While primarily aimed at a German audience, it offers English translation and provides insights into cutting-edge QI developments.
  • Metrology Conferences: Major metrology conferences offer excellent learning opportunities. The International Metrology Congress CIM2025 in Lyon and the INMEKO World Congress hosted by PTB in Hamburg are notable examples.
